High-Strength ASTM A193 B7 Stud Bolts for Flanges and Pressure Equipment

High-Strength ASTM A193 B7 Stud Bolts for Flanges and Pressure Equipment

Source ASTM A193 B7 stud bolts from a 33-year fastener factory. Fully threaded and double-end studs with Grade 2H nuts, cut and threaded to length, tested per batch.

  • Description

Haosheng Fasteners supplies premium ASTM A193 Grade B7 stud bolts, including fully threaded studs and double-end studs, for flanged connections in industrial piping, valves, and pressure equipment. Manufactured from chromium-molybdenum alloy steel and quenched and tempered to achieve specified mechanical properties, B7 studs are the standard bolting choice wherever reliable high-temperature strength is required.

B7 studs are normally assembled with ASTM A194 Grade 2H heavy hex nuts, and thread options include UNC, 8UN, and metric M series. Fully threaded studs can be supplied per applicable ASME threaded-rod requirements, while double-end studs are produced to applicable standards or customer drawings, with cutting and threading to length as required.

In addition to stud bolts, we also supply B7 hex head bolts and B7M studs upon request. Our team works with customers to confirm diameter, length, thread specifications, finishes, and inspection requirements before production and delivery.

Key Advantages

Made for Flanged Joints

B7 studs are the standard bolting choice for piping flanges, valves, and pressure-equipment assemblies in industrial service.

125 ksi Tensile Minimum

Quenched-and-tempered chromium-molybdenum alloy steel provides a minimum 125 ksi tensile strength for diameters up to 2½ inches.

Full Thread and Double-End Forms

Fully threaded studs engage nuts anywhere along the length; double-end studs provide a plain center for grip and alignment.

Cut and Threaded to Length

Studs are supplied to the length your joint design requires, covering thick flanges, long engagement, and special projects.

B7 and 2H Matching Supply

ASTM A194 Grade 2H heavy hex nuts are supplied together with B7 studs for compatible industrial fastening assemblies.

Retains Strength at Temperature

The molybdenum addition keeps mechanical properties stable at elevated service temperatures, where standard class 8.8 fasteners lose preload.

Manufacturing & Supply Management

Material Verification

Material grades, chemical composition requirements, and relevant documentation are reviewed according to customer specifications.

Heat Treatment Control

Appropriate quenching and tempering processes are used to achieve specified mechanical properties, with testing as required.

Dimensional Inspection

Thread profiles, diameters, lengths, and straightness are checked against agreed standards and drawings.

Order Coordination

Specifications, quantities, production arrangements, and delivery requirements are confirmed before order fulfillment.

Surface Finish Selection

Surface finishes are evaluated according to corrosion requirements, thread compatibility, service conditions, and coating processes.

Export Packaging

Suitable packaging solutions help protect threads and markings during handling, storage, and international transportation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a fully threaded stud and a double-end stud?

A fully threaded stud is threaded along its entire length, so nuts can engage anywhere and both ends are usable. A double-end stud is threaded at both ends with an optional plain center, which helps positioning and protects the shank. The choice should follow the joint design.

How does ASTM A193 B7 differ from property class 8.8?

B7 is a material grade under ASTM A193, commonly used for specified pressure-equipment and piping applications. Class 8.8 is a metric fastener property class. They follow different requirements and should not be substituted based on strength alone.

Are UNC and 8UN threads available?

Yes. UNC and 8UN thread options can be evaluated according to the specified diameter, product standard, and project requirements, and metric M threads are also available.

Why are Grade 2H nuts often paired with B7 studs?

ASTM A194 Grade 2H nuts are a common companion for ASTM A193 Grade B7 bolting. Final compatibility requires confirmation of thread, dimensions, and joint design.

Can you supply B7 hex head bolts as well as studs?

Yes. B7 hex head bolts are available alongside stud bolts, and B7M studs can be supplied on request. The photographs on this page show B7 studs, hex head bolts, and Grade 2H nuts from our stock.

What finishes can be specified?

Plain or black finishes and other coatings may be evaluated. Coating selection should consider service conditions, thread fit, tightening behavior, and potential hydrogen embrittlement.
